Jan Peter Dank, M.D.

Jan Peter Dank, M.D.Dr. Jan Peter Dank is board-certified in Dermatology, currently serving as a Partner at the Dermatology & Laser Center NW, where he has been in practice since 2003. Dr. Dank also volunteers his time as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Dank obtained his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he graduated with honors and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then went on to the University of Washington where he completed his first residency in Internal Medicine and subsequently completed a second residency in Dermatology. He also completed additional course work at the University of Washington School of Public Health. Before leaving Seattle, Dr. Dank was a full time faculty member for one year in Internal Medicine at Harborview Medical Center and three years in Dermatology at the University of Washington Medical Center.

Throughout his medical training and experience, Dr. Dank has co-authored and participated in several clinical research studies on emerging technologies and techniques in the field of dermatology. His work has been published in leading medical journals.

Dr. Dank currently focuses his practice on medical and surgical dermatology, offering care to both adults and children, as well as providing Botox® injections and laser treatment for facial veins.

Mark J. Doherty, M.D.

Mark J. Doherty, M.D.Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Mark J. Doherty is a highly skilled and experienced dermatologist with advanced training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, currently providing comprehensive care to patients at the Dermatology & Laser Center NW.

Dr. Doherty received his medical degree from Creighton University Medical School, and completed internship training at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. His residency training in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery was completed at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center, where Dr. Doherty also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology for a year after his training.

Dedicated to furthering his knowledge in the field of dermatology, Dr. Doherty also completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery/Cutaneous Oncology at the LSU Health Science Center. Upon completion of his extensive training, Dr. Doherty practiced at Peace Health Medical Group before joining the Dermatology & Laser Center NW.

Dr. Doherty has been practicing Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery in Bellingham since 1989.

Stan Gilbert, M.D.

Stanley C. Gilbert, M.D.Dr. Stan Gilbert is a board-certified dermatologist with over 15 years of experience, currently serving as Medical Director of the Dermatology & Laser Center NW, where he has practiced since 1997. With exceptional skill and advanced knowledge of dermatology, Dr. Gilbert has previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Washington, and as a consultant for Obagi skin products.

Dr. Gilbert received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and completed residency training in Family Medicine at Baptist Medical Center, and in Dermatology at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. Dedicated to furthering his knowledge and training, Dr. Gilbert also completed a fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center.

As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Gilbert is associated with several professional organizations, including:

  • American Academy of Dermatology, Fellow
  • American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Fellow
  • American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine, Fellow
  • Seattle Dermatologic Society
  • Washington State Medical and Dermatology Societies

In addition to offering comprehensive medical and surgical dermatologic care, Dr. Gilbert sub-specializes in a wide range of cosmetic and laser treatments, including:

Schuyler vanWoerden, Aesthetician

Schuyler vanWoerdenSchuyler joined the Dermatology & Laser Center NW in 2002, and has since provided high-quality skin care that combines the latest technologies with holistic European philosophies for noticeable results. She takes the time to evaluate each patient’s individual needs and provides treatments such as Silk Peel Dermalinfusion, chemical peels, laser treatments and pre-operative and post-operative skin care. With great pride in her work, Schuyler is able to help patients achieve the results they desire.

Prior to joining the practice, Schuyler served as manager for Lancôme and Bobbi Brown makeup counters, for which she was awarded Counter of the Year on numerous occasions, and also served as a freelance makeup artist for Nordstrom’s and Barney’s.

In 1999, Schuyler received her Aesthetician’s license from the Euro Institute of Seattle and opened her own day spa in Bellingham. With over 15 years of experience, Schuyler is a valuable asset to our staff and provides patients with highly effective results.
